New Boog City Poetry Editor

Hi all,

After a lengthy tenure as Boog City poetry editor, Buck Downs is stepping
down.

“Boog has been a great pretext for me to flag down poets I’m seeing/hearing
for the first time and say hey, gimme more, please, which is a favorite
thing,” says Downs. “The good kind of selfish, I hope, getting to share
such cool poems from so many people with so many people.”

On Buck’s good word, our new poetry editor is Bill Lessard.

“It feels great to become part of this wonderful newspaper,” says Lessard.
“Buck has been a discerning and tireless curator of its tradition of
celebrating the finest independent poetry. I will do my best to live up to
his fine example.”

Bill Lessard has writing that has appeared or is forthcoming in
McSweeney’s, Hyperallergic, Prelude, Brooklyn Rail, FANZINE, PANK,
FUNHOUSE, Potluck. His work has also been featured at MoMA PS1. He
co-curates the Cool as F*** reading series at Pete’s Candy Store.

Best,
David
