Tinfish Press news

Tinfish Press is pleased to announce publication of Albert Saijo’s
posthumous book, WOODRAT FLAT, edited and introduced by Jerry Martien and
beautifully designed by Allison Hanabusa. The poems in this volume were
written in the late 1980s and early 1990s in northern California and
Volcano, Hawai`i. Saijo was an important, if neglected, poet. But the time
has come to attend to his eco-poetics, his resistance to corrupt and
authoritarian institutions, and to his loving attention to the world. See
here for details and to order. Included in the book are some facsimile
pages from Saijo’s notebooks, works of art in themselves:

While you’re on the Saijo page, please look around at our other recent and
not-so-recent publications. Earlier this year we published books by Donovan
Kuhio Colleps and Norman Fischer. We have also started a reading series in
Honolulu in collaboration with Na Mea Hawai`i; so far, we’ve had two
successful readings.

Please support the press by ordering our books and/or by donating to us. We
are a non-profit organization devoted to the publication of experimental
poetry from the Pacific region.

Warmest wishes for the holidays and the new year–

aloha, Susan
